Replacing the brush roll drive belt in your Singer upright vacuum

  • Unplug the power cord to disconnect electrical power from the vacuum cleaner.
  • Turn the vacuum cleaner over so the bottom of the nozzle assembly is facing up.
  • Remove the screws from the bottom of the bottom plate.
  • Pull the bottom plate off the nozzle assembly.
  • Pull out the brush roll and remove the belt from the motor shaft and brush roll.
  • Slide the new belt onto the motor shaft and slip the other end of the belt over the brush roll.
  • Reinstall the brush roll into the nozzle assembly.
  • Reinstall the bottom plate and secure it with the mounting screws.

  • Vacuum collection bag. The collection bag holds the dust and dirt the vacuum cleaner collects.
