Adjusting the oven temperature calibration on your Salton wall oven
Over time, the temperature setting on your oven can drift away from the factory setting. Then you'll find that your oven consistently bakes or roasts food faster or slower than the time specified in the recipe. Fortunately, you can recalibrate your oven to get it closer to the original setting.
Press the BAKE button just until the temperature displays the current offset setting—usually 0 or 00, unless you recalibrated the oven previously. Use the arrow keys to increase or decrease the offset to calibrate the oven to detect the proper temperature. Press the BAKE button to save the calibration setting.
Common replacement parts for Salton wall ovens
- Thermal switch. The thermal switch is located on the back of the wall oven. It trips if the wall oven overheats.
- Electronic oven control board. The electronic oven control board senses oven temperature and cycles the bake element and broil element on and off to maintain the oven temperature that you set on the control panel.
- Control panel. The control panel houses the selection buttons that allow you to choose oven settings and the control display.
- Oven temperature sensor. The oven temperature sensor detects oven temperature and sends the temperature signal to the electronic control board to help maintain set oven temperature.
