Most common Broich Eneterprises Imperial freezer parts that need replacing

  1. Control panel. The freezer control panel turns on or off freezer functions such as power, vacation mode and the ice maker.
  2. Drain hose adapter. The drain hose adapter provides a connector to attach a drain hose to the freezer.
  3. Thermistor. The thermistor is a temperature sensor within the freezer that sends information to the electronic control board.
  4. Temperature control thermostat. The temperature control thermostat is mounted in the control housing area and controls the temperature inside the freezer. It turns the compressor on and off as needed to maintain the set temperature in the freezer. The thermostat has a temperature sensor tube that detects the actual temperature in the freezer compartment and controls the temperature based on the reading from that sensor.
  5. Overload/PTC relay. The overload/PTC relay starts the compressor motor. It has 2 components: an overload protector that trips when the compressor motor overheats or locks up, and a relay. The relay manages the start-up of the compressor and keeps the compressor running until the compressor cycles off.

How to replace a Brioich Enterprises Imperial freezer door gasket

  1. Unplug the freezer or shut off the circuit breaker for the freezer. Safely store any food that could deteriorate while the freezer is shut off for this repair.
  2. Soak the new gasket in warm water to smooth out the creases created during shipment. You can also use a heat gun or hair dryer on a low heat setting to remove creases in the gasket.
  3. Open the freezer door. Fold the inside lip of the gasket back to access the screws and clips that secure the gasket to the freezer door. Remove the screws from the gasket. Use a slot screwdriver to pry the plastic clips out of the gasket. Pull the gasket and inner door liner off of the outer door panel. Remove the gasket from the inner door liner.
  4. Position the new gasket around the inner door liner. Position the inner door liner and the gasket on the outer door panel and line up the mounting holes. Reinstall the screws and clips to secure the new gasket and inner door liner to the outer door panel.
  5. Close the door and check the new gasket for a proper seal. You should not see any gaps between the door gasket and the edge of the freezer cabinet when the door is shut.
  6. Plug in the freezer to restore electrical power.
