Examine the spray arms
The dishwasher's spray arms may cause excessive noise if they are hitting dishes or if the hub is worn, causing the arms to wobble. Clear dishes out of the path of the spray arms, or find replacement spray arms from Sears PartsDirect. Also check the spray arm bearing ring and seal, and tighten them if needed.
Clean the chopper blade area
A hard object such as a popcorn kernel can get caught by the chopper blade, causing a grinding or rattling noise during a wash cycle. To complete a simple dishwasher repair, unplug the dishwasher, remove the spray arm and take off the sump to access the chopper blade. Clean out the debris, and check the blade for damage so that you can replace it if needed.
Inspect the water inlet valve
If water doesn't enter the dishwasher during a wash cycle, the low water level causes the pump to make excessive noise. Check the water inlet valve to see if it's opening and closing properly. If it is damaged, it should be replaced.
Whether you need a new spray arm or a chopper blade, Sears PartsDirect carries high-quality replacement parts to fix your noisy Holiday dishwasher.
