Common DeWalt tool cabinet replacement parts

  • Caster wheel. The caster wheel fits at the bottom of the tool cabinet and allows you to roll the tool cabinet to a different location. The caster wheel also has a locking mechanism that keeps the wheel from rolling when the lock is engaged.
  • Lock. The lock keeps the tool cabinet locked shut when you engage the lock using the key.
  • Key. The key locks and unlocks the locking mechanism on the tool cabinet to prevent unauthorized access to your tools.
  • Slide rail. The slide rail supports the storage drawer and allows the storage drawer to slide in and out so you can access tools in the tool cabinet.

How to replace a caster wheel on your DeWalt tool cabinet

  • Wear work gloves to protect your hands before beginning the repair.
  • Empty all tools out of the tool cabinet.
  • Lay down cardboard behind the tool cabinet to keep from scratching the rear cabinet panel as you lay the tool cabinet on its back.
  • Carefully lay the tool cabinet on its back. Use a helper if necessary.
  • Remove the caster wheel mounting screws and pull off the broken caster wheel.
  • Install the new caster wheel and secure it with the mounting screws.
  • Stand the tool cabinet upright. Use a helper if necessary.
