It works
May 03, 2022

It fits and works on a Model #11173022710 Kenmore refrigerator. Removed the ice maker and unscrewed 2 top screws on each side of the panel in the freezer. I replaced the right one which was on the panel. I managed to replace it without removing the fan panel on the main panel I removed. The wiring was shorter than the old motor and fit better without having to rout it through a clip like the old one.

Kenmore/Daewoo Refrigerator Evaporator Fan
January 27, 2022

The parts arrived in a timely manner. The note from other users were helpful. The drawers need to be removed, the door needs to be dismounted, the ice maker needs to be uninstalled, and a long Phillips screw driver preferably manual is needed to removed the back panel screws. The upper rails needed to be removed. Watch out for the freezer evaporator fan wire connected to the back panel. Note; this unit has 2 evaporator fans. One may work, the other may not work. They are independent of each other. In my case, the fan was bad and the control board was bad. There is a technical chart on the back of the refrigator to pin out and trouble shoot voltages.

Hard diagnosis
July 28, 2021

Refrigerator would not get cold after customer accidentally did not get freezer door shut. Fan motor was froze over with ice, had to use a dryer to thaw ice on motor and vent to refrigerator from fan. Still fridge section would not cool, Thought fan might have been damaged, ordered fan motor, replaced fan motor, checked for air flow to fridge section. Flow was good but still would not cool fridge section. Problem was there are 2 return vents in fridge section floor, you can not see how those vents return air back to freezer section because there are no obvious places in the freezer you can see the other end of the return vents from the fridge. But with fridge door closed and freezer door open and back panel off in freezer section I put my hand near the inlet end of the fan and felt a back draft, when I opened the fridge door the back draft went away. The problem ended up being Ice from the moisture build up from the freezer door not closed good. ice had blocked off the return air from the fridge to the freezer, the fan could not flow enough air into the fridge section to cool it because the vent being froze allowed the air pressure to increase in the fridge preventing the fan from blowing air from the freezer to the the fridge then back to the freezer. The simple fix was leaving the refrigerator unplugged for 2 days to insure all ice was melted. I will remember this nightmare of a diagnosis.
