Frustrating purchase process

The agitator itself seems fine - it looks identical to the one I had, it fits my vacuum cleaner, and it works; however, the purchase process was bizarre and frustrating. I ordered the item on a Monday and received an email confirmation immediately. Later Monday and on Tuesday I received messages telling me that the checkout was NOT complete and that I could still get 10% off. When I went back to the Searspartsdirect site, the item was still in the cart. I called customer service and was told that the order had gone through fine. On Wednesday I received a message saying that my part had been released to another buyer - but it still showed in my cart. I checked with my credit card company and learned that there was a pending charge for the amount. The cart would not let me delete the item (even now when I access the Searpartsdirect site, the item is STILL in the cart.) Later Wednesday night, I received an email saying that the item had been shipped to me and giving me an estimated delivery date. I did receive the item on schedule. It makes no sense why I kept getting emails saying that my order was incomplete and then told that the item was sent to someone else when the order was apparently fine. Having to investigate the conflicting messages wasted my time. I am not sure if the conflicting messages were meant to "trick" me into buying the item again. Based on my experience and reading other negative reviews online, I am hesitant to order parts through Searspartsdirect again if I can find the part somewhere else. I have ordered many things online from other sites and never had this type of problem.

I like the newer version of the beater bar. I have an older model vacuum and the replacement was much easier to install. It gave me the feel of a brand new vacuum!!!

Vacuum cleaner agitator purchase

The original agitator was a wooden cylinder with a plastic grooved ring at one end which engaged the grooves of the belt. The replacement agitator is entirely a wooden cylinder and the grooved belt engages directly with the smooth wooden surface of the agitator. It seems to work but is not the same quality as the original part.

Aggravating

First and foremost, I was shipped the wrong part. When I called to get it returned I was told that I wouldn't be refunded until they got the part back. Then I was asked if that worked for me. My answer, "no, but I don't see that I have any other options". So, then they looked to see about getting me the right part and come to find out it's backordered for two months. So, now I'm without a vacuum for two months. Customer service is seriously lacking.

Replacing beater bar

Part was easy to install remove 6 screws to get access to the beater bar,swapped out part and put back together on less then 20 minutes
