After detailed conversation, the wrong part
I spent some time on the phone with a sales rep looking at documentation for the disposal I'm installing on an extra-thick sink. After looking at the same diagram in the same document, I thought the sales rep understood which part I was after (it has no number, just called "N" in the docs), but a totally different part arrived instead. Waste of $50.
